MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVING TRAINING INDUSTRY (ILP) ALLOWED TO OPERATE FROM 9 SEPTEMBER 2021 [SIARAN MEDIA MENTERI PENGANGKUTAN MALAYSIA]

The Ministry of Transport Malaysia (MOT) would like to announce that the Motor Vehicle Driving Training (ILP) Industry nationwide is allowed to operate during the National Rehabilitation Plan (PPN) period by appointment from 9 September 2021.
Although the Driving Institute (IM) can start operating from 9 September 2021, the testing process to obtain the relevant driving licenses will only start on 17 September 2021. The permission that has been approved by the National Security Council (MKN) is subject to compliance with the following:
I) Full compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of the Phased National Recovery Plan (VAT) in force;
II) Employees, instructors and candidates have completed receiving the vaccine by submitting the COVID-19 Digital Vaccination Certificate and identity card as proof;
III) Companies are only allowed to operate with employee capacity based on the percentage (%) of employees who have completed receiving the vaccine.
If the percentage of complete employees receiving the vaccine is 40%, then the capacity of employees allowed to operate is 60%. If 60% complete receiving the vaccine, 80% of workers are allowed to operate. Companies are allowed to operate at 100% capacity if 80% of complete employees receive the vaccine.
IV) The presence of any staff/candidate with symptoms, currently in the Tightened Movement Control Order (PKPD), ‘Person Under
Surveillance ’(PUS) and being in a Quarantine Order is not allowed, and;
V) Comply with health protocols set by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) and the implementation of new norms such as body temperature examination, MySejahtera scan, practicing physical imprisonment, wearing half face mask and provision of ‘hand sanitizer’.
The MOT would like to remind that any non -compliance with the prescribed SOPs can be taken action under the Disease Prevention and Control Act
Infectious 1988 (Act 342).
Understanding and concerned with the difficulties faced by IM operators due to the COVID-19 pandemic, MOT decided to grant a moratorium for three (3) months until 30 November 2021 for the need to renew IM permits for anyone whose permit validity period has expired between January to September 2021.
It is hoped that the re-operation of the ILP will provide relief to ILP or IM entrepreneurs, teaching staff and the public who
require related services.
